Behind Coollecting
"The artist is a collector. Not a hoarder, mind you, there's a difference. Hoarders collect indiscriminately, artists collect selectively. They only collect things they really love."
— Austin Kleon, Steal Like an Artist
I've always believed that's what we're all doing through life, collecting memories, moments, pretty paper, too many hobbies, and the people who make it all feel worth keeping.
Coollecting started from that idea. A club for people who save ticket stubs, press flowers, fill journals, and believe that a beautiful envelope makes an ordinary Tuesday feel like something.
I'd love to be part of your collection too.

Hi, I'm Bea. Illustrator, immigrant, serial hobbyist, and corgi mom.
I was born and raised in the Northeast of Brazil, and four years ago I packed my sketchbooks and crossed the ocean to Philadelphia, where I now live with my husband Mike and our corgi Maple, who serves as chief supervisor and unofficial studio mascot.

I've always been someone who makes things: watercolor, embroidery, clay, linocut, you name it. But illustration is my true language. It's how I process the world, tell stories, and connect with people I've never met.
I started illustrating almost two years ago, under the name Brazuca, my way of navigating the longing for my culture, one design at a time. That name stuck: it's still my studio today, and you might have spotted it somewhere along the way. But early on, I realized I was running before I learned how to walk. I wanted room to explore, to chase different references and styles, to find my own voice before tying myself to a single subject.
That's where the club came from, a place to follow whatever inspires me in the moment and evolve through the process, out loud, one envelope at a time.
If you ask me what my art style is, the honest answer is that I don't have one. I used to think of that as a flaw. Now I've made peace with it. Every design I make is a collection of my life luggage, the artists who inspire me, the places I've been, and the memories I carry with me.
Coollecting exists because I believe everyone deserves mail worth opening. Every month, I design and curate a little package of things I'd want to receive myself: original art, paper goods, a personal letter, things made with meaning, and a little bit of soul.
Thanks for being here. I'm so happy we found each other.
